How in the world do you get your kid to clean their room in 15 minutes or less?

Here is a list of 10 things meant to help kids clean their room in a more organized way. I'm a huge fan of lists. It ensures a process and accomplishment as you check off.

If this is done daily and without a huge resistance (there is light at the end of the tunnel little one...) it can be done in only a few minutes. Let us know your tips or if this works for you in the comments below.

Needed: three bags, laundry basket, wipes, broom/dustpan, fresh linens.

  1. Quickly pull up the covers so you have a place to work.

  2. Pick up all clothes and put on the bed.

  3. Sort in to four piles: Put Away, Dirty (bag), Donate (bag) and Recycle (bag)

  4. Straighten drawers and hangars while putting clothes away. Pull anything that is out of place out and place on bed.

  5. Start in one area and fill your bags or put items where they belong.

  6. Once everything is put away wipe down surfaces, door handles and other high traffic areas.

  7. Remove bags

  8. Take laundry out.

  9. Sweep.

  10. Change linens.
